Exciting new mobile marketing platform – VMob

Occasionally a piece of marketing technology genuinely impresses me. This past week I got to view a demonstration of VMob – a real-time mobile marketing platform who are partnering with us at CACI. If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, a video must be worth far more so this is their case study from work undertaken with McDonalds in the Netherlands.

For me VMob fulfils several requirements retail marketers typically have:

  1. A need to collect and process vast amounts of data in real-time
Including till data, pricing information, customer geolocation, local weather, iBeacon proximity and anything that can be thrown at it.
  2. The ability to make instant decisions about the next best action
Similar functionality to other multichannel campaign management tools but focussed more on instant push notifications to the mobile device.
  3. Closed loop reporting from the marketing platform to till redemption
VMob cuts vouchers in real-time that can be redeemed at till point. The redemption can then be tracked back to a specific customer.

Mobile apps can be a powerful marketing channel when built well. As Tom Fishburne pointed out in his latest article on mobile strategy, too many brands get their approach wrong for apps. With my retail hat on I can see the powerful opportunities that VMob presents to create an engaging app that drives value for the customer and retailer.

I’m excited that we get to combine VMob’s platform with CACI’s existing marketing capabilities. If you want to find out more about the technology for your retail business, drop me a line on my CACI contact details – [email protected].
