Advertising channels allow marketers to buy the attention of prospective customers. Typically these channels operate through the principle of interrupting the prospects attention. For example TV adverts interrupt a program that a person is watching.
Often advertising is viewed as an above the line activity where direct sales are difficult to measure. There are however a growing number of advertising channels that will allow the marketer to measure both impressions and response.
